Ministry Groups

This Catholic Bible study is intended for young adults in their 20s and 30s who desire to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through Sacred Scripture, prayer, and authentic Christian fellowship. Together, participants reflect on the weekend Mass readings from both the previous and upcoming Sundays, allowing God’s Word to come alive more fully through prayerful discussion and faith sharing rooted in the life of the Church.

In addition to Scripture study, the group fosters meaningful Catholic community through fellowship and conversation around a bonfire with beverages during the warmer months and in the SFX basement in the cooler months. Whether you are seeking spiritual growth, faithful friendships, or a deeper understanding of the Scriptures proclaimed at Holy Mass, all young adults are warmly welcome.

The group meets during the spring and summer in the courtyard of the St. Henry Parish rectory in Watertown, and during the fall and winter in the basement of St. Francis Xavier Church in Lake Mills.

In addition to its monthly gatherings, the CCW joyfully serves the broader community through its annual Cookie Walk in December and a free community Soup Supper during the Lenten season, both offered as expressions of hospitality, generosity, and Christian charity.

The Confraternity of Christian Mothers is a parish organization dedicated to fostering the spiritual growth of women through fellowship and service to the Church. Rooted in Catholic tradition, the organization encourages mothers and women of the parish to deepen their relationship with Christ and to support one another in living out their vocation.

The Christian Mothers meet monthly from September through May. Throughout the year, they sponsor several parish fundraising events, including an Fall Soup and Bake Sale, a Spring Bake Sale, and aluminum can drives held in both the fall and spring.

A portion of the proceeds from these fundraisers is donated to the parish to assist with the purchase of liturgical supplies, including communion hosts, altar wine, and missalettes. Through their generosity and service, the Christian Mothers make a meaningful contribution to the spiritual and parish life of the community.

As part of the Catholic initiative Walking with Moms in Need, the "Blue House" on the grounds of St. Francis Xavier became Gianna's Joy in April 2024. Named in honor of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, this ministry was established by members of the Walking with Moms in Need team to provide Christ-centered support, encouragement, and practical assistance to mothers, children, and families in need. Gianna's Joy officially opened on June 30, 2024.

Rooted in the Church's commitment to uphold the dignity of every human life, Gianna's Joy seeks to accompany mothers and families with compassion, respect, and hope. Guests may contact Gianna's Joy directly or be referred by a parish, agency, or individual.

Volunteer staff are available on Tuesdays from 3:00–6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 noon.

Volunteers play an important role in this ministry and are always welcome. Opportunities for service include assisting guests during open hours, sorting and laundering donated items, preparing meals for the freezer, and sharing other gifts and talents in support of mothers and families.

The Greeting Card Ministry creates faith-filled greeting cards for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, encouragement, sympathy, and holidays. These cards are available for purchase at the back of each church.

As part of our outreach, ministry volunteers also create greeting cards each month that are sent to residents of senior living facilities in our parish. Through prayerful messages of faith, hope, and Christian charity, we seek to share the love of Christ, bring encouragement to those who may feel isolated, and remind them of God's presence in their lives.

All proceeds from the sale of the cards are used to purchase supplies needed to create additional cards and to cover the cost of mailing cards to senior living facilities. In this way, the ministry continues its mission of serving others through simple acts of kindness and compassion.

Mothers with children ages 5 and under are warmly invited to join us for an evening of fellowship, encouragement, and faith. This ministry provides an opportunity for mothers to step away from the demands of daily life, grow in friendship with other Catholic women, and find support in a Christ-centered community.

Through prayer, conversation, and a variety of engaging activities, participants are encouraged and strengthened in their vocation of motherhood. Each gathering offers a welcoming environment where mothers can share their experiences, deepen their faith, and build meaningful relationships with one another.

Moms of Littles meets on the fourth Thursday of each month, September through May, from 7:00–8:15 p.m. in the basement of St. Francis Xavier.

In November 2025, St. Therese of Lisieux Parish began a pregnancy loss support group sponsored by St. Catherine Miscarriage Ministry and Red Bird Ministry. This ministry is open to any mother who has experienced the sorrow of pregnancy loss.

The group meets monthly at Gianna's Joy and offers a prayerful, compassionate space for mothers to share their grief, find comfort in Christ, and support one another in faith and hope. Together, we entrust our little ones to the loving mercy of God and walk alongside one another in healing.

Unlike traditional Bible studies, Discipleship Quads are small groups of four individuals who gather outside of the church setting to reflect on Sacred Scripture, deepen their relationship with Christ, and grow in intentional discipleship. Through prayer, faith-sharing, and mutual support, members encourage one another in living out the Catholic faith in daily life.

Quads may meet at times and locations that are most convenient for the members of each group.
